Ching Jing (清境) farm in Nantou (南投) is a group of farm s located at Len-ai Village in Nantou County between Hohuanshan and Wushih. It rises to a height of 1,748 meters covering an expanse of some 700 hectares.

The Cingjing Veterans Farm is situated at the Jen-Ai Town of Nan-Tou County where 8 km north of Wushe Section, Tai 14A Route of Central Traverse Highway in Central Taiwan. The Farm has been opened to public since February 20th, 1961. The Cingjing Veterans Farm is 1,750 meters above the sea. The weather is generally mild all year round. In the months from May to September, temperatures average between 15℃ and 23℃. The Farm produces various fruits including: peaches, pears, plums, kiwi fruit, and high land vegetables.

Facilities in the Farm include: the Tourist Center, the Green Green Grasslands, the Small Swiss Garden, the Recreation Center for visitors, the Shou-Shan Park, the Guest House and a Stock Nurturing Center. The entire crew of the Farm is putting in all efforts to join the Farm with nearby tourism projects, making it an attraction, to provide a cozy and enjoyable nature trip for all visitors.

Many people and tourist actually mistaken Ching Jing Veteran Farm for being a place with many farms. But in reality, the name Ching Jing Veteran farm is actually the name of the county. Though there is a farm called Ching Jing Farm.

Entrance to the farm costs NT$100 for adults and NT$10 for children under 100cm and animal feed is available at the door should you wish to let a ram get a bite to eat. Actually it is worth watching the tourists feeding the sheep to see the shocked looks on their faces, as most people in the cities never come this close to real livestock. There is also a sheep shearing “show” on weekends and holidays at 9:30am and 2:30pm and the farm is open from 8am to 4pm daily.

How to get Ching Jing

By car :
From Wangtien Highway Interchange, exit to No 1, Provincial Route to Chungchuan.
Then, turn to No 14 Provincial Route to Wushih and you will reach the farm.

By bus :
From Taichung, take the Taichi Express Bus to Puli and then change to Nantou Express Bus bound for Shungkan or Chuifung.
Alight at Yushih (Young Lion) stop.

Yeliu Taiwan Rock Formations Coast

Yehliu (野柳) is a 1,700 meters long cape on the north coast of Taiwan, between Taipei and Keelung in Wanli Township. The cape, known by geologists as the Yehliu Promontory, forms part of the Taliao Miocene Formation. It stretches approximately 1,700 meters into the ocean and was formed as geological forces pushed Datun Mountain (大屯山) out of the sea.

Yehliu is a small fishing town northeast of Taipei, Taiwan known for its geological rock formations carved out by sea erosions. Thousands of tourists flock here every year to see the famous Queen's Head, along with Fairy Shoes, Ginger Rocks, Sea Candles and other cleverly-named rock formations.

In the north of Taiwan close to the second largest harbour in Keelung is one of the world's greatest natural wonders. Due to its bizarre rock formations, Yehliu Park provides visitors with scenery that could be from a distant planet. But the polymorphic shapes of the rock are not extraterrestrial but the result of an ancient process that dates back several million years, erosion.

Some of the rocks seem to grow out of the ground like giant mushrooms. The reason for this lies in the composition of the rock strata. The more elevated sections are often far harder and weatherproof than the lower layers that crumble away and have been transformed into gravel and sand.

In 1964 the Yehliu Peninsula was officially designated as a park and since then it has been one of Taiwan's most important and popular tourist attractions. The park consists of a total area of around fifty three hectares of land and more than four hundred hectares of coast.
Its rocky terrain flanks the South China Sea.
It is famous for the curious rock formation, carved by sea erosion. A number of rock formations have been given imaginative names based on their shapes. The most well-known is the "The Queen's Head" (女王頭), an iconic image in Taiwan and an unofficial emblem for the town of Wanli. Other formations include "The Fairy Shoe", "The Bee Hive", "The Ginger Rocks" and "The Sea Candles."

Apart from the scenery, Yeliou Scenic Area also features the Ocean World, which is the first ocean park in Taiwan to have live sea creature performances. At Ocean World, you are able to see performances of dolphins and sea lions. The Ocean World also features a 100 meter long undersea tunnel for you to watch all sorts of marine life at your own leisure.

After you have finished observing the special coastal geology, if you have the time and the inclination you can indulge yourself in some water activities. You might consider taking a relaxing holiday at Greenbay, a natural beach with eye-catching scenery that has been designated as a coastal resort. The center of recreation in this area is between Yeliu and Wanli, where there are all sorts of recreational facilities and a 1.5-kilometer beach where you can swim, surf, or engage in other water sports. The steep mountain slopes just next to the seashore make this a popular place for hang-gliding and parasailing as well.

If you want to visit Yeh Liu, a tour can be a good idea. You can follow a two days tour of Yeliu with a travel route such as :

Hsinchu Taiwan Nightlife Hotspots Guide

Hsinchu (新竹 or Xin Zhu) is a city in the north-western part of Taiwan. Hsinchu is the oldest city in northern Taiwan.

Hsinchu is an old city, with a history more than 400 years. Due to the constant gusts of wind that blow in from the Taiwan Strait, Hsinchu is often referred to as the Windy City.

Hsinchu is famous for its two remarkable university such as National Chiao Tung University Hsinchu, and National Tsing Hua University Hsinchu.

How to get Hsinchu :

By plane :
The nearest airport is Taoyuan International Airport, which is about a thirty minute drive in the dead of night with no traffic and a speeding taxi driver. Safest to allow around an hour from Science Park or a little longer from down-town.

By bus :
From Taipei
The How-Tai Bus Company (豪泰客運) run a fast, cheap (NT$110), efficient and very comfortable (extra wide seats with personal video screens) service from Taipei to Hsinchu. In Taipei, the red buses depart every fifteen minutes from bay 22 at the Taipei Bus Terminal - also called Taipei Intercity Bus Terminal (See: Taipei 'Get in'). From Hsinchu, the buses depart from next to the Hsinchu Railway Station (when exiting the station, the bus stop is a two minute walk to the left, just past the Hsinchu Bus Station), and makes a stop at the National Tsing Hua University bus station en-route to the freeway. NB: If your ticket is not collected before departure, hang on to it. It will need to be given to the driver when getting off. The journey takes between 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes.

From Taoyuan Taiwan Airport :
There are no direct buses from Taoyuan Taiwan Airport (Taipei International Airport) to Hsinchu, but the U-bus company offers a link, with passengers changing buses at the 'Jhongli Transit Station'.

From Taichung :
Taichung Bus (台中客運) and Guoguang Bus (國光客運) connect Hsinchu to Taichung.

By train :
The TRA (or regular train) station is in the city centre and is a major stop on the main line between Taipei and Kaohsiung/Taichung. It costs from NT$114 to NT$180 for an adult and takes approximately one to two hours to get there from Taipei main station, depending upon the type of train you take.
The Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR) has a Hsinchu stop located in the neighbouring city of [Chubei] (竹北; zhúbĕi) and is approximately 30 minutes by taxi from the city centre. The journey from Taipei takes approximately 30 minutes

Hsinchu Tourist attractions :

Visiting Hsinchu is not complete without visit its main attractions such as Eighteen Peaks Mountain, Glass Arts and Crafts Museum, Eastern Gate, Cheng Huang Temple. Temples are various in Hsinchu, and is the landmark of the city.


Hsinchu Nightlife

Hsinchu is not Taipei or Kaoshiung. We cannot compare their nightlife. But we can focus at Ming Zu Road, lane 33 (also known as Bar Street) for a good place to go and meet both local Taiwanese, Ex Pats, and travelers. Don't miss the Red Bar and TJ's, the Coach Pub and Pumpkin. Pumpkin has a kitchen and offers good tasting Thai food, they will also deliver to any of the other bars in the area.

Pig and Whistle is a pub-restaurant on the first floor and a dancing pub on the second. There's a stage with bands playing on the weekend. That's near the ambassador hotel, the highest building in Hsinchu.

City God Temple. Located on the corner of Zhongshan Road and Dongmen Street, is a typical Taoist temple with lots of colorful frescoes.



Eighteen Peaks is a brilliant getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city and an ideal place to stretch your legs. The park, composed of 18 hills and a number of walking trails, is at its best in March when the flowers are in bloom and is a very popular destination with locals and expats.



Cheng Huang Temple, or "City God" Temple of Hsinchu. It is regarded as the highest-ranking of all City God temples in Taiwan, due to the superior spiritual power of its City God in protecting the town. There is a night market in front of the temple, with a lot of small stalls selling Taiwanese snacks.



The most famous landmark in Hsinchu. Accordingly, Hsinchu residents refer to it as the "Mother of Hsinchu", protecting the city and its people. This East Gate is the only gate left from the initial 4, for 4 directions: "Yi Suang" in the West, "Ying Xi" in the East, "Gexum" in the South, and "Gongcheng" in the North. However, the Japanese destroyed 3 of them in 1902 while building a new road system.

How To Access Taitung

By train: Taitung is on the main East Coast express route. The journey from Taipei takes about five and a half hours to seven and a half hours depends on the type of trains you take. From Kaohsiung to Taitung on the Southern route the trip takes from just over two hours to a little over three hours depending on the type train.

By plane: Taitung is serviced by a local airport with flights to Taipei and Kaohsiung.

3. Taitung Seashore Park. You can enjoy the sea view at this park. The park is close to the city. Many locals walk or jog in the park at their leisure time. There is also the bicycle lane here. You can ride the bicycle to go around.

4. Taitung Aboriginal Cultural Hotel. The hotel is decorated with the aboriginal cutural stuffs. They are very beautiful and unique. It is nice to visit this place even if you do not stay here. The twim room is about USD 30 to USD 40 in this hotel. It is not expensive but we did not stay here so we did not know how it felt to live here.

5. Guan Shan Waterside Park. Guan Shan waterside park is a big and beautiful park where you can enjoy the mountain view and the river view. People used to rent the bicycle outside the park and ride it in the park and around the whole town.

6. Shiau Yeh Liu. Shiau Yeh Liu is a coast with differnet kinds of the rocks. You can go down and sit on these rocks to see the waves.

7. Aboriginal Cultural Village. Aboriginal Cultural Village located in Majia Township has four areas. The welcome area includes managing center, dining service, cultural relic museum, and audio-visual hall etc. The Tamaluwan area and Wukuwan area introduce traditional buildings of nine tribes. Naluwan area includes some special displaying area like aboriginal song and dance show, Multi-media Theater, living pattern hall etc. There are traditional memorial ceremonies held regularly.

8. Beinan Cultural relic. Beinan Cultural relic is the sarcophagi and remnants excavated during the railroad project. It is the biggest and most intact prehistoric habitation of Taiwan. It belongs to the first class of ancient remains.

9. Cave of Eight Immortals. Cave of Eight Immortals was eroded by waves during the process of rising crust. There are temples and idols in the caves and pathways leading to each cave. Cave of Eight Immortals is a ancient remain of the Old Stone Age. It introduces prehistorically culture in the showplace.

10. Jiale-shui. Jiale-shui is located in the north-east side of Hengchun peninsula. It is famous for the scenery of special rocks eroded by waves and disintegration.

11. Jiben Forest Recreation Area. Jiben Forest Recreation Area is located at the middle reach of Jiben creek. You will meet a red suspension bridge at its entrance. The recreation area has botanical garden planting camphor woods, mahogany, pine trees, broad-leaved tree forest, etc. and the B.B.Q, & camp site, plants nursery, hotels, etc.; there are paths stretching to link these spots with one another. The clear creek, the emerald mountains, a variety of butterflies and birds and the pleasant climate are all attractions. It's certainly a worthwhile trip on holidays. The nearby Jiben Hot Spring is also a good spot to visit.

12. Liangshan Waterfall . Liangshan Waterfall is located in MajiaTownship. Water flowing down from rocks looks like silk. There are rocks with special shapes in the village. It is a nice place to swim and barbecue.

Tainan Old Buildings Hotels Address

Tainan (臺南/台南) is a city in Taiwan Island, the fourth largest city after Taipei, Kaoshiung, and Taichung. Tainan is also the oldest city in Taiwan, was used as the capital of Taiwan in 1661 and remained the capital until 1887 during the Qing Dynasty.

The ruins of Anping Fort (安平古堡 Ānpíng Gǔbǎo), originally called Fort Zeelandia, was built in 1620 by the Dutch. Its commanding views of the ocean make it a popular place to watch the sunset. Hours: 8:30AM-5:30PM.

2. Chikan Towers (赤崁樓 Chìkàn Lóu), originally called Fort Provintia, was built in 1653 by the Dutch. There are tablets, stone horses/camels and a row of nine turtle-borne steles with inscriptions. Hours: 8:30AM-9PM.

3. National Museum of Taiwanese Literature Located in a restored colonial-era Japanese building, even with the limited English on display this museum is fascinating. The coffee shop is good too

4. Confucius Temple A serene destination surrounded by a small park. Explore the temple, then go to the incredibly popular shaved-ice store opposite

5. Anping - Holland and Japanese forts, old street (shopping, food), tree house, old merchant house, beach.
6. Annan - Leurman Temple and nature watching (canalling, birds).

Tainan Nightclub
There are only really 2 choices here in Tainan with regards to nightclubs where most foreigners will go.
There's AD and LaSight. AD plays music for most of the night (R&B, hiphop, rap). Rather small place but has just been redone so all is looking nice.

Tainan Night markets

There are over two dozen night markets of various sizes in and around the city. Regardless of size, night markets all possess an abundance of stalls selling clothing, shoes, jewelry, toys, food and drink. Some even have live entertainment.

Most night markets are only held on certain days of the week. Check before going. One of the night market hua yuan (花園夜市 huāyuán yèshì, literally translated as "Flower Garden") is open on Thursday, Saturday, Sunday.

Keelung Taiwan Port City Nightlife

Keelung City (基隆) is a city in the northeastern part of Taiwan. It borders Taipei County and forms the Taipei-Keelung metropolitan area, along with the City and County of Taipei. Keelung is Taiwan's second largest seaport (after Kaohsiung). Keelung is nicknamed "The Rainy Port" (雨港). Also Keelung was first lived by the Ketagalan, a tribe of Taiwanese aborigine.

Today Keelung is the principal port of Northern Taiwan as it is only about 30 minutes drive to Taiwan's capital Taipei.

Many visitors will arrive in Keelung by cruiseship as it has become a popular cruise destination to explore Northern Taiwan, Taipei or Keelung with its many attraction itself.
A must see is the Night Market - a colourful, busy and bustling affair that attracts people from Taiwan and many tourists.

Although Taiwan now just got a disaster from Typhoon Morakot, but it is fortunately that Keelung and surrounding areas are still far from the tyhoon which had killed more than 500 peoples in South Taiwan. So it is still safe to visit Keelung city.

Keelung Nightlife

Keelung Nighlife may not so busy and glitzy as Taipei. Not so many nightclub and bars in Keelung. But Keelung famous for its night market and delicous food.

Keelung's Miaokou Night Market or Temple Mouth is famous throughout Taiwan for its large selection of food. It meanders through lanes and alleys in the downtown area surrounding the Dianji Temple (奠濟宮). There is actually a functional temple but it's practically buried under all the market stalls. Food stands line the open space between the gate and the door while vendors sell clothing and other trinkets on surrounding streets. Keelung is sprawling and very popular.

The night market is easily accessible on foot for most travelers arriving from other cities. From the Keelung railway station walk east straight along the street following the harbor in the direction of the Keelung Harbor Bureau (identifiable at night by its large orange neon sign. The night market is roughly one block from the point where you cross a freeway overpass.



Keelung is the second largest seaport in Taiwan. A Port and Gateway to Taipei.



Situated in the northern part of Taiwan island, Keelung used to be called Jilong, which means hencoop. The name was later changed to Keelung which means "rich and prosperous land".

Hualien Beautiful Liyu Lake and Taroko Gorge

Hualien City (花蓮市) is the capital city of Hualien County in Taiwan. Located on a strip of land between the Pacific Ocean and the Central Mountain Range, Hualien is considered one of the most pleasant cities in Taiwan. Many tourists visit the city to enjoy the scenery and fresh air and also to tour the famous Taroko Gorge, which is located a few miles north of the city.

Hualien County neighbors the Pacific Ocean, and is also next to the grand Central Mountain Range of Taiwan. The county is not a very populated region with about 350,000 citizens, due to the mountainous topography.

The mountains, white water rapids, cliffs, waterfalls, and precipices in Taroko National Park represent the splendid landscape in Hualien. The Liyu Lake also has gorgeous scenery and provides fishing and boating fun. In addition, East Coast National Scenic Area, East Rift Valley Scenic Area, and Yushan National Park make Hualien County the most beautiful county in Taiwan.

How to access Hualien :
Hualien is accessible by rail from the Taipei Main Station and other main station in Taiwan to Hualien Station by taking Taroko Express and Tzu-Chiang Train service which provided by the Taiwan Railway Administration.

Hualien has a recently renovated commercial airport that serves domestic flights and international charters. Hualien Airport is a popular transit hub for visitors going to nearby Taroko National Park.

For driving from Taipei, you can use National Highway No. 5 (Chiang Wei-shui Memorial Freeway) from Taipei to Su-ao, Yilan, and connect to Provincial Highway No. 9 (Su-hua Provincial Highway) from Su-ao to Hualien.


Hualien Must See and Main Attractions :
1. Beibin Seashore Park, Nanbin Seashore Park and Meilun Seashore Park.
A scenic area of palm trees and landscaped greenery that runs the full length of the city's foreshore. The views over the Pacific Ocean are especially spectacular at sunrise.
2. The Abode of Still Thoughts.
This small Buddhist temple at the foot of Mount North Jialiwan is the original facility of the world-famous Tzu-zhi Buddhist foundation. In keeping with the foundation's ideals, the temple is very simple, and incorporates a Japanese style garden. Information on Tzu-chi's international activities is also available at the temple.
3. Yenpin Prefectural Temple, near Zhongyang Road, sec 4. Established in the Qing Dynasty, this is the oldest temple in Hualien.
4. Pine Garden, Zhongmei Road (near the river). A peaceful garden with 63 pine trees.
5. Chishingtan (七星灘), north of Hualien City (follow the bike path from Nanbin Seashore Park). Excellent vistas of the ocean, delicious seafood, friendly people, and a special goat restaurant specializing in goat milk coffee. The beach isn't popular for swimming, though, as the tides and currents are quite dangerous, the bottom drops off steeply, and doesn't have much sand (mostly pebbles). It is important to stay near the coast.
6. Hualien County Stone Sculpture Museum at the Hualien County Cultural Center displays both traditional and contemporary stone sculptures. Open daily 9am-5pm. Admission fee: NT$20.

"The Wen Shan Hot Springs are the only hot springs I've ever been to in Taiwan that are still almost completely natural! There are three different temperature pools (hot, really hot, and scalding hot)

Hualien is the largest city on the east coast of Taiwan and the best jumping point for the famous Taroko Gorge and beautiful coast.



Located about 10 km southeast of Hualien, Liyu Lake is an excellent picnic/weekend destination.



One of the more popular activities in the Hualien area is a trip down south to Juisui for white water rafting on the Hsiukuluan River.

Taichung Night Bars Pubs and Markets

Taichung (台中市 or Tai Zhong Shi) is the third largest city in Taiwan after Taipei and Kaohsiung. Taichung is located in west-central Taiwan with a population of just over one million people.

Taichung is a city with pleasant climate on the west coast of central Taiwan. The city is home to many manufacturers and in recent years has undergone a rapid growth of various cultural venues. Traffic in Taichung is better than in Kaohsiung or Taipei, though parking a car is still tricky.

Among the activities to catch when visiting Taichung: the world-class science museum and hiking in the nearby hills. There are also many famous night markets that provide night-time excitement.

In Taichung you you can enjoy delicious food and drink, and find cheap and interesting items for sale. These include the ChungHwa night market (中華夜市), the Feng-Chia university night market (逢甲夜市), the Tung-Hai university night market (東海夜市), and the Chung-Shiao night market (忠孝夜市)).

Taichung has so many temples, as any other cities in Taiwan. But temples in Taichung are extremely widely spreading, such as Confucius Temple, Martyr’s Shrine, Pao Hueh Temple, Cheng Huang Temple, Wan Chun Temple, Li Ancestral Shrine, Wen Chang Temple, Le Cheng Temple, and Wan He Temple.

How to access Taichung :

Arrive by air. Taichung does not have an international airport. However, it is only a short flight from all of Taiwan’s major cities. The airport is conveniently located a short taxi ride away from downtown.

Arrive by train. Taichung is a short ride from Taipei and is connected by high-speed and regular rail to all of Taiwan’s major cities.

Arrive by bus. Taichung is connected by both luxury and regular bus to all of Taiwan’s major cities. Taichung’s bus routes terminate both in the west end of the city and close to the train station. Visitors should pay attention to which station is indicated on their ticket.


Taichung Nightlife

Taichung has a huge KTVs where you can sing old classics, hip lounge bars, modern night clubs, beer houses and places that specialize in live music.

Some people may not too impressed by the night spots, but Taichung has many good restaurants. The best so far has been Smooth, which is the sister property of Fatty's. Both are owned and operated by a nice fellow named Hendrik Frijling and his wife. The address is No.1 Ching-Cheng Road, Lane 50, in Little Europe, which is directly across the street from the Evergreen Hotel. Phone number is 04-2319-4898.

There are places that can kept you awake are the Pig Pen in Chi Chi, and a place called Coyote Ugly in the Tiger City Mall. You will enjoy the live music joint called 99, and another one that was okay called Animal House, both on Hsiang Shang Road. Everything else was a flop.

Taichung bars, and Nightclub :

Pubs and restaurants are often two or three stories and the discos frequently large enough to conduct military maneuvers in. Even better, the prices make us up here in Taipei recall the 1980's - which goes a long way towards covering the cost of a hotel.

Like to start the evening at a quieter place with style or unique character? One great place to get started is La Bodega (3, JingCheng 2nd St; 04-2310-7006), a Spanish-run bar that is cozy and specialises in great snacks (Spanish Tapas) mixed with a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. If you like to sit outside, you can't go wrong with PJ's Cafe (23 DaYe Rd; 04- 2325-2457), with their pleasant indoor pub and a nice outdoor bistro area that is good for people-watching. Taichung even has an Irish bar in O'Chang's (Closed).

If you're feeling dressy or simply like a nice sofa, be sure to check out one of the many lounge bars in the city. Crystal (120-3 ZhongHua Rd Sec 2, B1; 04-2208-6206) and Escape (45-2, TaiZhongGang Rd Sec 2; 04-2328-0768) are both small, cozy and high-end establishments perfect for a date or meeting with friends. Liquid Lounge (98, ZhongMing S. Rd; 04-3601-9980) is classy and comfortable during the week, but frequently hosts the hottest parties in town during the weekend. Also, be sure to check out J&J Jeay & Jazz Bar (91, DaYe Rd; 04-2310-0136).

No night out is complete without some dancing. Taichung's answer to MoS is Mint 27 (Taichung Central Dept. Store, 10F - 186, FuXing Rd, Sec 4; 04-3608-0599), a hotspot that features the best local DJs and performers (like Wu Bai and Power Station) as well as many international acts. A popular night spot for the over-25 set is the Pig Pen (41, DaGuan Rd; 04- 2383-4456), with a British-themed pub downstairs and a disco upstairs.

To wind down at a late night spot, and if burgers in a friendly attractive bar sounds good then be sure to drop by Peggy's Circle Bar (16-1, JingCheng 1st St; 04-2329-3998). Another spot which always retains a party atmosphere well into the late evening is 89K (89, ZhongMing S Rd; 04-2320-7010), a place where motorcycle enthusiasts mix with late night revellers for some high octane fun.
